The test edge is approximately .004" in thickness, a
cross section of which has radius to provide a straight
line contact with the work surface. Straightness is
±.00005".
For ease of inspection, the blade is dyed in black, and
the upper edge is covered with a grip plate. The acute
angle is 30 degrees.
